The first edition of the Software Freedom Kosovo conference took place on August 29-30 2009, at FIEK (Faculty of Electrical Engineering), bringing together the Kosovo open source community for the first edition of what would become an annual gathering.

Over 40 topics were discussed in lectures across fields such as Wikipedia, Linux, intellectual property licenses, community building, and programming languages like PHP and Python, establishing it as one of the most extensive events in Southeast Europe. Since that inaugural event, we have celebrated 10 successful editions and are proud to bring you the 11th edition this year.
