25 years of FSFE - A long way to software freedom

What does it take to keep technology in the hands of its users? At the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE), it means litigating against Apple before the European Court of Justice, building sustainable long-term funding for Free Software across the EU and its member states, and advancing "Public Money? Public Code!" within public administrations. It means advocating for Device Neutrality and Router Freedom, freeing Android devices through Free Your Android, and supporting developers with Free Software licensing questions. It means cultivating the next generation of contributors through Youth Hacking 4 Freedom. And includes, among its many chapters, a story involving skateboards and raspberry ice cream. Since 2001, the FSFE has worked to empower users to control technology. This talk traces the many fronts of that effort: legal, political, technical, and community-based.
