Software Freedom Kosova 2012

On September 8 and 9 in Pristina, the international conference “Software Freedom Kosova 2012 – SFK12” will be held, aiming to deepen knowledge in the field of information technology.
Experts in this specific field will gather for the fourth time in Pristina to demonstrate their skills and collaborate in information technology, which gave the world the web, Android, Wikipedia, and many other technologies. Software Freedom Kosovo, organized by FLOSS Kosova, is the largest conference of its kind in the region.
The conference will host its main lectures at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Pristina on September 8 and 9, while workshops will be organized at the UNICEF Innovations Lab on September 7 and 10.
SFK12 will gather speakers from many countries around the world, including Bruce Perens, one of the founders of the open-source movement. Perens is a software company owner, computer programmer, and co-founder of the Open Source Initiative (OSI).
Among the speakers will also be Andrew Betts, a PHP and JavaScript developer and founder of Assanka, which is now part of the Financial Times. Betts is a lecturer on topics related to HTML5 and PHP.
Also part of the conference will be Prof. Dr. Frederik Questier, an academic advisor for ICT educational projects in several developing countries and a professor in several departments at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels. Prof. Questier is the author and editor of several books and articles in the field of technology, innovation, and free software.
From Kosovo, participants will include Flamur Mavraj, a web application developer working with PHP, who will lecture on Zend Framework 2, as well as many other speakers.
