@ University of Southampton & Wikidata
Lucie-Aimée Kaffee (on Wikidata: Q37860261) is a final year PhD student at the University of Southampton in the Web and Internet Science (WAIS) research group. Her research focus is on supporting under-resourced languages on Wikidata and Wikipedia. Particularly, she published on generating text for Wikipedia articles from Wikidata in low-resource languages and the interaction of humans and bots on Wikidata in terms of multilingual editing. She currently is co-lead of Scribe, a Wikimedia Foundation founded project to support low-resource language Wikipedia editors in creating new high-quality articles through document structuring and reference suggestion. This work is closely connected to a number of projects in the space of reference quality and misinformation in Wikipedia.
She was part of the WDAqua project, an EU H2020 training network to work with a group of international researchers on the challenge of question answering over web data.
Previously, she worked as a software developer at Wikimedia Deutschland in the Wikidata team and is still involved in Open Source projects, e.g. previously as a member of the code of conduct committee in Wikimedia technical spaces. She organises events to connect the research community and the Wikimedia editing and technical community to work together more cohesively and support each other.
